Thank you for being interested in my commissions!
I do take on some commissions occasionally, and while each commission is different, here is a basic breakdown of my rates and info:
I charge $45 an hour + supplies for commissions, which breaks down roughly like this (may vary a bit depending on specifics of project):
4”x6” = $145
8”x10” = $235
11”x14” = $330
I charge 50% up front and the rest on completion.
You'll get a round of rough draft sketches to choose from partway through, so you can see the direction things are going and let me know what you think. I invoice through my shop or PayPal.
I offer one round of small editing in the original price.
If there's a small change you'd like made in the final project, that's usually not a problem (depending on the change!) and is included. If you'd like something larger redone (anything that will take me longer than an hour), I'll treat it like a new project and charge hourly.
My turnaround is usually 4-6 weeks from the start of the project.
If I'm booked solid, it may vary a bit. Rush projects are an option, but it will be more expensive.
I also charge sales tax and shipping, which can vary for each project.
I also have an option for those on a budget: an artist's choice commission.
If you have an idea that you think would be a good fit for my style and I agree, I will do a commission for you at a discounted rate.
I won't include you in the editing process, and I will probably sell prints of the final image. Basically you just give me an idea, and I run with it and make it my own, but you still get the original piece.
If you want to get a commission going, shoot me an e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org with your idea and we can get started.
If you are interested in hiring me for a larger project, like illustrating a book or doing a collaboration, please e-mail me and we can chat about it.
